A+ A A-

Thank you for visiting Rio Terra's website. My name is Sharon Wild and I am the Executive Director of Rio Terra®. We are an independent living, assisted living and memory care community nestled in the heart of New Braunfels, serving seniors with delicious food, many social activities, and individualized care. New Braunfels has a hometown feel but with big-city amenities, and Rio Terra reflects that atmosphere. We provide all the same amenities and services as big city communities, but with a friendly, casual environment. Also, with many of our residents having family in both Austin and San Antonio, we are often perfectly located for all of the family members to have quick and easy access for visits. Finally, our location is perfect for our residents, since more of our residents' doctors are located within a few blocks of our community.

I am excited to be calling Rio Terra home again! I have been back onsite since 2013, but helped open this community back in 2009. I've worked with seniors for twenty years, and in a retirement community setting for over five years. This is truly my passion! I am a Certified Aging Specialist Professional, and have a strong connection with all of our memory care residents and their family members, as my mother had the disease. I love visiting our memory care community and seeing the power of our universal language - the smile!

My favorite part about Rio Terra is the family atmosphere that has developed amongst the residents and associates.  It is an honor to not only serve the residents of Rio Terra, but also to share in their lives each and every day.

I enjoy attending our outings with our residents to many of the fun surrounding communities. Whether we are visiting the King Ranch, going to a baseball game, or visiting the Shiner brewery, I love being able to spend extended time away from our community with our residents. On a weekly basis, however, bingo or Wii bowling are at the top of my list! Our Friday afternoon Happy Hour is always one of the best events of the week. Whether we have a singer, pianist, a band, or "Director Karaoke," happy hour is always filled with lots of good times and laughter. It is also a great time for the residents and many of the directors to sit back, talk, and just enjoy one another's company.

One word that describes the atmosphere at Rio Terra is family. Our family atmosphere extends beyond the residents to our associates as well. Our directors as well as all of our care associates strive to live by Sagora's philosophy of Resident First with an abundance of enthusiasm and compassion. I am always hearing of stories from our residents of how an associate went above and beyond to make sure that the needs of the resident were met or exceeded.

I appreciate you visiting our website. Please take a few minutes to look through our resident photos, community events, and services. I hope you come to visit us and meet our team and our residents!
